Certified Valuation Analyst

NACVA, the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts, is an association of Certified Public Accountants who provide business valuation services.

NACVA is unique in that it was established to serve the needs of Certified Public Accountants who are interested in expanding beyond their traditional roles of tax, auditing, and small business accounting.

What is a CVA?

The Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA) accreditation is NACVA?s premier designation and provides assurance to the business and legal community that an individual has attained a level of knowledge in business valuation that NACVA considers exemplary and worthy of recognition by awarding the designation of Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA).

To become certified by NACVA the candidate is required to successfully complete a rigorous training and testing process. The qualified applicant must be a Certified Public Accountant licensed in their state and be a member of the local CPA society or the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is required annually in areas related to business valuation and/or litigation support.

Additionally, every three years a CVA is required to become recertified by NACVA by demonstrating that they have met the professional standards for continuing education, that they have participated in NACVA's Quality Enhancement Program, and that they are current in business valuation theory.
